The Ministry of Women and Child Development launched the 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 on 9 September 2026 at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The month-long nationwide campaign will be observed from 9 September to 8 October 2026 under the theme “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari.” The campaign focuses on dietary diversity and adequate protein intake, encouraging balanced diets using locally available foods such as millets, cereals, pulses, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, milk products and eggs. Anganwadi Centres will organise recipe demonstrations, Poshan Melas and awareness activities promoting affordable and nutritious food choices. Another major focus is providing fresh, diverse and hygienically prepared Hot Cooked Meals (HCM) at Anganwadi Centres. The campaign also promotes community participation and accountability through Anganwadi Management Committees and the display of Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) Menu Boards.
