Adani Defence & Aerospace has signed a five-year agreement with Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL) to supply indigenously produced 7.62×39 mm ammunition for the AK-203 assault rifle programme being manufactured in India. The agreement is significant because it brings two critical parts of the AK-203 programme — rifle manufacturing and ammunition production — together within India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. Under the agreement, Adani Defense will supply the ammunition required for the AK-203 programme over five years. This gives the rifle programme an India-based source for a key consumable and is intended to support continuity of ammunition availability during the contract period.
