Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 28th meeting of the Western Zonal Council in Panaji, Goa, bringing together representatives from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The meeting, held on September 7, 2026, was organized by the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs and hosted by the Government of Goa. Senior officials from the Centre, participating states and the Union Territory also took part in the discussions.
