Jammu & Kashmir hosted its first International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026 from 7–10 September 2026, marking the region’s entry into the international film festival circuit. Organized by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, the festival followed the theme “Rang-e-Cinema” (Colours of Cinema).
The inaugural festival featured 135 films from 41 countries, selected from more than 1,100 submissions received from nearly 80 countries. The programme included feature films, documentaries, short films and regional cinema, with dedicated sections such as J&K Select and Bharat Panorama.
Screenings and events were organized across Srinagar, Jammu and Gulmarg, including the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), INOX Multiplex in Srinagar, Movie Time Cinemas KC Central in Jammu and the Gulmarg Convention Centre. The festival also featured masterclasses, industry discussions, interactive sessions and curated showcases, bringing filmmakers, actors, cinematographers, producers and other cinema professionals together.
