The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, and West Madhya Pradesh until tomorrow, as the southwest monsoon remains highly active. The weather agency has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning across Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Vidarbha. Residents in the affected regions have been advised to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow local administration advisories due to the risk of flooding, waterlogging, and disruption of normal life.
