Kashmir Hosts First-Ever International Film Festival

Jammu & Kashmir hosted its first International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026 in Srinagar from 7–10 September 2026 under the theme “Rang-e-Cinema.” Organised by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, the festival aimed to promote cinema, cultural exchange and opportunities for the region’s creative and film industry.
The inaugural edition showcased 135 films from 41 countries, including feature films, documentaries, short films and regional cinema. The films were selected from more than 1,100 submissions, giving the festival a broad international character.
The festival featured international competitions, curated screenings, masterclasses, workshops and industry interactions, providing local filmmakers and artists an opportunity to engage with international cinema professionals and explore new filmmaking practices. Screenings and events were held across venues in Srinagar, Jammu and Gulmarg.
