The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has received ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for its cylinder testing facility at the Mobility Research Centre in Takwe, Pune. The facility tests Type I to Type IV high-pressure gas cylinders used for CNG, hydrogen and other applications across the automotive, industrial, defence, marine and space sectors. Its testing procedures include pressure, burst, fire, drop and durability tests to evaluate cylinder safety, performance and reliability. This accreditation strengthens India’s testing capabilities for alternative-fuel technologies and helps manufacturers access specialised testing facilities within the country, supporting product development and safer, cleaner mobility.
