India has reinforced its growing maritime partnership with Malaysia as the Indian Navy’s frontline warship INS Mysore arrived at Lumut Naval Base to participate in Exercise Samudra Laksamana 4/26. The fourth edition of the bilateral naval exercise brings together the Indian Navy and the Royal Malaysian Navy for a series of joint training activities aimed at improving coordination, interoperability, and operational readiness at sea.
The exercise features both harbour and sea phases, allowing sailors from both countries to train in realistic maritime scenarios. Activities include tactical manoeuvres, communication drills, boarding operations, professional exchanges, and coordinated naval exercises designed to enhance the ability of both navies to operate seamlessly during regional security and humanitarian missions.
The participation of INS Mysore, a Delhi-class guided-missile destroyer, reflects India’s continued commitment to strengthening defence ties with Southeast Asian nations. The exercise also highlights the shared vision of India and Malaysia to promote a secure, stable, and cooperative maritime environment across the Indo-Pacific region.
