Jayanti Prasad, a Whole-Time Member of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), took additional charge as its Chairperson on September 13, 2026, following the retirement of Ravi Mital. He will hold the position until November 20, 2026, or until a new Chairperson is appointed, whichever comes first. The IBBI regulates India’s insolvency and bankruptcy framework under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, and oversees the resolution of financially distressed businesses.
