The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced the OneTag service, an initiative designed to make FASTag management more convenient and flexible for vehicle owners. The service allows eligible users to change their FASTag-issuing bank without replacing the physical FASTag affixed to their vehicle, reducing the inconvenience associated with obtaining a new tag whenever they wish to switch banks.
The service is integrated with the Rajmargyatra mobile application, enabling users to initiate the bank-transfer process digitally. Users can check their vehicle’s eligibility, complete the required verification through their existing FASTag-issuing bank, select a new bank and fulfil the necessary customer verification requirements. Once the transfer is successfully completed, the existing FASTag identification remains unchanged, allowing users to continue using the same physical tag for electronic toll payments.
The initiative aims to improve customer convenience by giving FASTag users greater flexibility in choosing their banking service provider. It is also expected to reduce the need for repeated FASTag issuance, minimize administrative inconvenience, and support more efficient management of electronic toll collection services across national highways.
The launch of OneTag reflects India’s continued efforts to strengthen its digital transportation infrastructure and improve the efficiency of cashless toll collection. By simplifying the process of switching banks, the service seeks to make FASTag management more accessible and user-friendly while supporting a smoother highway travel experience.
