Tamil Nadu has announced plans to establish a world-class Olympic City in Chennai through the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT). The integrated sports complex will feature international-standard sporting arenas, advanced sports equipment, a High Performance Training Centre, Sports Science and Sports Medicine centres, and accommodation for athletes and coaches. The facility is aimed at providing athletes with training, scientific support and sports medicine under one ecosystem, while also serving as a venue for national and international sporting events. The broader objective is to develop athletes capable of competing successfully at the Olympics and other major international competitions.
