The United States and Jordan conducted Eager Lion 2026, a joint military exercise that began on 15 September at Fort Carson, Colorado, under the coordination of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). The 12th edition of the exercise involved more than 200 military personnel from both countries, including members of the Colorado and Illinois National Guards.
The two-week exercise focused on counterterrorism, air defense, maritime security, cybersecurity, and disaster response. It aimed to strengthen military coordination, improve operational readiness, and enable both forces to plan and respond more effectively to complex security challenges. The exercise also reinforced defense ties between the United States and Jordan and supported their shared efforts to promote regional security and stability.
