US-based drone manufacturer Powerus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Army, securing an initial order related to unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The agreement was announced in September 2026 following a meeting between a Powerus delegation and Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The deal marks a potential expansion of US–Pakistan defence and technology cooperation. According to Powerus co-founder Brett Velicovich, the company is exploring opportunities for joint technology development and potentially local manufacturing in Pakistan. However, the exact number, specifications and financial value of the systems covered by the initial order have not been disclosed, citing confidentiality and security concerns.
Powerus, which develops aerial and maritime drone systems for defence and industrial applications, is also preparing to merge with publicly traded Aureus Greenway Holdings. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have investment links to Aureus through American Ventures, although their representatives have said they had no involvement in negotiating or securing the Pakistan Army agreement.
