India and Japan will mark 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2027, commemorating the establishment of formal diplomatic ties in 1952. The milestone highlights the longstanding partnership between the two countries across trade, investment, defence, technology, infrastructure and cultural exchange. Both nations continue to strengthen cooperation in areas such as semiconductors, clean energy, economic security and the Indo-Pacific region. The anniversary will provide an opportunity to review bilateral achievements and explore new avenues for collaboration, further strengthening the India–Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
