India and Finland are strengthening cooperation to promote a circular economy, where resources are reused, waste is reduced, and products and materials stay in use for longer. The partnership focuses on areas such as waste management, waste-to-energy, sustainable production, renewable energy and resource efficiency. The two countries have also agreed to deepen collaboration on climate action and sustainable development, bringing together governments, businesses and research institutions. India is set to host the World Circular Economy Forum 2026, giving both countries another platform to share technologies, ideas and practical solutions. The bigger goal is to move away from the traditional “use and throw” model and build systems where waste can become a resource, while supporting economic growth and environmental sustainability.
