The Karnataka government has recognised Engineers’ Day as an official state event, celebrated annually on 15 September to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of India’s most renowned engineers. The initiative aims to honor the contributions of engineers to technological innovation, infrastructure development, and economic growth. The state has also approved the use of the professional prefix “Er.” before engineers’ names, recognizing their professional identity and contribution to society.
