Pranesh M Wins Kanizsa Open Chess Title In Hungary

Indian Grandmaster Pranesh M emerged as the Group A champion at the Kanizsa Open 2026 in Nagykanizsa, Hungary. The 19-year-old finished the nine-round tournament with 7 points, remaining unbeaten throughout the event. Pranesh began strongly with four consecutive wins and then secured four draws before defeating Germany’s Vadym Petrovskiy in the final round. Four players finished on 7 points, but Pranesh claimed the title on superior tiebreak scores. The victory adds another international achievement to Pranesh’s growing career and highlights the continued rise of young Indian chess talent on the global stage.
