India’s cheetah reintroduction initiative, Project Cheetah, has completed four years, with the country now home to 52 cheetahs. Launched in September 2022, the project aims to restore cheetahs to India’s ecosystems and strengthen wildlife conservation efforts. This milestone marks a significant step in India’s journey towards protecting biodiversity and reviving a species that was declared extinct in the country in 1952.
