The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Ravi Shankar as its new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2026. Prior to this appointment, he served as Adviser-in-Charge of the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM). In his new role, Ravi Shankar will continue to oversee the department while contributing to the RBI's policy, data management, and financial sector initiatives, reinforcing the central bank's focus on data-driven decision-making and institutional efficiency.
