US Extends $100,000 H-1B Visa Fee Policy Until September 2027
September 19, 2026 • International
The United States has extended its $100,000 payment requirement for certain H-1B visa petitions until September 21, 2027. Announced by the White House on September 18, 2026, the extension targets certain employers seeking to bring skilled foreign workers into the country, particularly those applying for workers currently outside the US. However, federal court rulings have blocked the fee, and it is currently not being collected while legal challenges continue. The H-1B programme allows US employers to hire foreign professionals in specialized fields, including technology.
