The 83rd Venice International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 2 to 12, 2026, on the Lido di Venezia in Italy. The festival will bring together filmmakers, actors, producers and cinema professionals from around the world, with a lineup spanning international competition, premieres, independent cinema, classics and immersive projects.
The festival will open with Danny Boyle’s Ink, which will have its world premiere in competition on September 2. The event will also feature major awards, including the prestigious Golden Lion, with the closing and awards ceremony scheduled for September 12.
Beyond the red carpet and star appearances, Venice remains an important platform for international cinema, giving established filmmakers and emerging talent an opportunity to showcase their work to global audiences and industry professionals.
