Australia Signs Five New Space Partnerships With India
September 9, 2026 • Science & Tech
Australia and India have strengthened their growing space partnership with five new industry agreements announced at the Bengaluru Space Expo 2026. The partnerships bring together Australian and Indian companies and research organisations to work on areas including satellite infrastructure, spacecraft testing and recovery, spaceport activities, research, education and future commercial space missions.
One of the agreements involves Australian Earth-observation company LatConnect 60 and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), allowing the company’s SWIRSAT mission to use Indian ground-station infrastructure for mission operations and data. Other partnerships focus on reusable spacecraft, capsule recovery, high-altitude testing and microgravity research. The University of Western Australia has also partnered with the Space Industry Association of India to promote cooperation in education, research and industry engagement.
